About the Micro

The Trice Micro was designed and made by Inspired Cycle Engineering in Falmouth, Cornwall, England.

About my Micro

My Micro had a lot of bits which at the time that I bought it, were standard parts but are now listed as extras.
The Hope disc brakes, carbon composite seat and Schlumpf Speed Drive were once standard parts.
Together with the mudguards, carrier, computer, lights, panniers, mirror et cetera, that was £1200-£1300 of extras!

Gears

Schlumpf Speed Drive. Shimano Ultegra front changer. SRAM 9SL rear derailleur. Operated by SRAM twistgrips.
Two Middleburn chainrings, one had 40 teeth and the other 52 teeth. The rear cluster (9 speed) went from 11 teeth to 32 teeth.

Using a gear calculator, we get these results :-

Speed DriveChainringGear inchesDevelopment
Direct (x 1)40 teeth20.1 to 58.4

Wheels and Brakes

All of the Micro's wheels were 16 inch (37-349) size and had 16 x 1 3/8 Schwalbe Marathon tyres fitted.
Tube size 32/47-305/349 with a Presta valve - Schwalbe SV 3.
Hope Mini hydraulic front disc brakes and XC hubs.
Rear parking brake - Shimano Deore V brake.
Front and rear mudguards were fitted.

Frame and Seat

Purple Metallic, powder-coated frame. Made from Columbus Cro-Mo tubing. Fixed, non-suspended rear end.
Carbon composite seat with adjustable headrest. This was drilled and reinforced to take a suspended pannier rack if one was ever needed.
Tubus, ICE modified, frame mounted, rear pannier rack.
Fully adjustable, aluminium alloy handlebars.
